Bounceback for the team..and for yours truly! (posted May 22, 2010)

Well, after the Sounds and me experienced a disastrous Thursday night, we both were resilient as I was able to get the broadcast on the internet (LOL, at least I hope I did; didn’t hear either way, but I was told the signal was connected) and the Sounds won, 3-1 over the Grizzlies in Fresno, despite early control problems from starter Chase Wright. Chase settled down and pitched much better and Johnny Raburn made a couple of outstanding catches–and in succession in one inning.

Shortstop Luis Cruz made a diving stop on Angel Berroa’s hard hit grounder towards short and turned it into a force play to end the inning and further threats by the Grizzlies’ offense. Chris Smith picked up his league-leading 14th save despite giving up a lead-off triple to Fresno Centerfielder Eugenio Velez in the ninth inning. Smith struck out Buster Posey to end the game.

The last three days, the weather here in Central California has been ideal and I look to see continued success tonight. The Sounds’ hottest pitcher, Kameron Loe, will start tonight. Airtime for the webcast is at 8:50PM Central Time over www.nashvillesounds.com. Hope the Sounds will continue where they left off last night.
