I was happy for First Baseman Joe Koshansky, who had his best game as a Sound this season. Koshansky set the tone immediately with a three-run homer off Josh Towers in the fst inning and shoddy throws by the Isotopies led to more runs for Nashville early on. Luis Cruz and Trent Oeltjen also went deep against the Istopes as they sealed the deal very early.
Isotopes Park is a great park with a wonderful inflatable playground beyond the rightcenter field wall and a nice grass lawn and bushes provide the backdrop behind the center field fence instead of the traditional “Batter’s Eye”. I loved the mountainous scenery beyond the outfield walls and that is exactly what the West Coast is famous for. It is also shared by the University of New Mexico Lobos, which have a series with TCU this weekend. Still, the Sounds play as scheduled.
Meanwhile, Sounds’ starter Chris Waters hurled eight solid innings and allowed just one run to get the win.
This was nice, especially since the Sounds had an early wakeup call to head to the Austin airport to head to Albuquerque for the second leg of the road trip. Part of the life of being in Triple-A, but it is nice to get to Albuquerque early Hope the hitting will be contagious.
Congrats to the Sounds on a nice display of offense and a win! Tomorrow night’s (tonight’s) game will be on nashvillesounds.com at 7:50PM. Please tune as the Sounds look to make it three in a row!.
